The DeKalb County Board of Ethics has hired a search firm to find an executive director who would help handle complaints about government employees.

The board voted unanimously Tuesday to hire Atlanta-based BSS Group/SSB Group, an executive search company, at a cost of $36,000.

The executive director position, which comes with a salary range between $100,000 and $150,000, will be responsible for fielding tips about unethical behavior, training government employees and bringing concerns to the Board of Ethics.

BSS Group will find candidates who will be interviewed by the board.

Board members said they preferred BSS Group over other companies because it has experience with hiring ethics managers. Bids from two other search firms came in at $30,000 and $40,000.
