The Brookhaven mayor’s position and council seats currently held by Linley Jones and Bates Mattison are open for the general election in November.

Rebecca Chase Williams was named mayor on June 9, following the resignation of the city’s former mayor, J. Max Davis, leaving the district 1 seat vacant, which was filled by Jones.

Candidates for mayor and city council seats 3 and 4 must file a notice of candidacy in the office of the City Clerk of Brookhaven, Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. or between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. through Wednesday.

The qualifying fee for each city council seat is $360, and the fee for mayor is $480.

Mayoral candidates must be a resident of the city of Brookhaven for 12 continuous months immediately before the election date. City council candidates must be a resident of the district for six continuous months immediately before the election.
