Nigeria Olympic soccer team to play in DeKalb

The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners and representatives for United Soccer Africa recognized the Nigeria men’s Olympic soccer team on Tuesday. The Nigeria men’s soccer team is returning to the Atlanta area to play an exhibition Saturday in preparation for the Olympics in Brazil next month.

The Nigeria U23 Olympic team will play Charleston Battery at Silverbacks Park in DeKalb County.

The Nigeria soccer team won the gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Saturday's match begins at 8 p.m. at 3200 Atlanta Silverbacks Way near the intersection of I-285 and I-85. Tickets and information are available at unitedsoccerafrica.com.
