Potentially hazardous trash like paint, chemicals and batteries can be safely disposed of during a household waste recycling event Saturday.

Keep DeKalb Beautiful, which hosts the event twice a year, will also accept items like aerosols, adhesives, flammables, fluorescent light bulbs, artist supplies and more.

Recycling these materials is free and it’s open only to DeKalb County residents.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 3720 Leroy Scott Drive.
