Fulton County will spend more than $200,000 to update election software to help prevent long Election Day lines and improve access to information about candidates.
The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to buy a $153,000 election management system from Easy Vote Solutions of Woodstock. Among other things, it will allow the department to monitor lines no election day, allow candidates to file campaign paperwork online and make it easier for the public to view campaign reports.
Commissioners also agreed to pay $59,500 to SOE Software of Tampa, Fla., for poll-worker training software.
Fulton Elections Director Rick Barron said the new software “should improve our department’s ability to conduct elections more efficiently.”
