Former Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond has joined Butler, Wooten & Fryhofer,  one of the most prominent plaintiffs' firms in Georgia.

Thurmond, a Democrat who was elected as Georgia's labor commissioner in 1998, was defeated in November in a challenge to unseat U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson. "I am excited about this unique opportunity to work with one of America's most successful trial law firms," Thurmond said in a statement. "This will allow me to further my lifelong commitment to helping citizens who have been unlawfully wronged." The firm has offices in Columbus and Atlanta.
