Jason Carter, grandson of President Jimmy Carter, will be the keynote speaker at the 18th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the Fayette County branch of the NAACP. The 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. event will be held Nov. 14 at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, 2443 Hwy 54 East in Peachtree City. This year’s theme is “Committed to the Struggle: All Lives Matter.” The banquet will honor President Carter’s humanitarian work and commemorate the late civil rights icon Julian Bond as well as the late Pota Coston, the first black person elected to the Fayette Board of Commissioners.
