DeKalb Solicitor Sherry Boston wins district attorney race

DeKalb Solicitor Sherry Boston defeated District Attorney Robert James in the race Tuesday to become the county's top prosecutor.

Boston ran a campaign saying that DeKalb needs a new district attorney whom residents can trust to prosecute crimes and clean up the county.

James argued that he had a record of convictions of DeKalb CEO Burrell Ellis, former DeKalb schools Superintendent Crawford Lewis, gang members and murders.

There was no Republican in the race, meaning Boston will become DeKalb’s next district attorney.

James has served as the county’s district attorney since 2010.
