Chamblee names interim police chief

While the city of Chamblee conducts a search for its next police chief, Assistant Chief Mike Beller will serve as the interim leader.

Beller has been employed with the Chamblee Police Department since 1997 and is a U.S. Army veteran.

The city has hired The Mercer Group to conduct a 90-day search for a new police chief. A new leader is expected to be in place by the end of the year.

Donny Williams retired last month as police chief after 27 years of service.
