The city of Canton has set qualifying for the Nov. 3 municipal election for next week.

Candidates can file paperwork from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 31 through Sept. 2 at the Canton city clerk’s office at city hall, 151 Elizabeth St. Voters will choose a mayor and three council members, in Wards 1, 2, and 3.

The qualifying fee is $300 for anyone interested in the mayor’s race, and $240 for council members. In addition, candidates must be at least 21, a registered voter and should be a resident of the ward from which they wish to be elected for at least six months prior to the vote, although they are elected to represent the city at large.
