Brookhaven is parting ways with its well-paid city manager, who earned a $214,000 base salary plus benefits.

The city and Brookhaven City Manager Marie Garrett have agreed to a $225,000 settlement that calls for her resignation and avoids potentially costly litigation.

Garrett earned one of the highest salaries among city managers in Georgia municipalities with populations over 50,000 residents, according to a state survey.
