Atlanta artist Ross Rossin has been tapped to create the new Hank Aaron statue for SunTrust Park, the future home of the Atlanta Braves in Cobb County.

The team made a brief announcement on Twitter with a photo of the baseball legend having his picture taken, presumably in preparation:

Rossin is a portrait artist who has painted notable figures including Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons; former President George W. Bush; and the poet Maya Angelou, to name just a few.

A spokesperson for the team said it would not be releasing any additional information for the time being.
