Rides on the Atlanta Streetcar have been temporarily suspended due to repairs to its power system.

The Streetcar operates using an overhead cable system. A spokeswoman for the Streetcar said crews are repairing some of the overhead power lines at Edgewood Avenue and Jackson Street, as well as Auburn Avenue and Peachtree Street.

Residents could see temporary road closures along the streetcar route as a result, and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
