A juvenile who was killed early Monday in Macon in a crash involving a stolen vehicle has been identified, according to WMAZ.

Chief Coroner Leon Jones identified the victim as 14-year-old Shakayla Hill, according to WMAZ.

Sheriff David Davis told the station the driver of the car, identified only as a 15-year-old, will be charged with murder.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, police saw a Nissan Sentra run a traffic light about 1:40 a.m. Deputies tried to pull over the vehicle, but the driver fled police at a high rate of speed down Napier Avenue in downtown Macon.

The driver then lost control and slammed into a utility pole and several trees, according to the police report. The car then rolled over, and the car’s five occupants were thrown out.

Police said three juveniles remained on the scene, but two unknown subjects fled the scene. Shakayla was dead at the scene, according to officials. The other two juveniles, a male and female, were taken to a local hospital.

Police said the Nissan Sentra had been reported stolen earlier in February.
