Gilmer County deputies have arrested a Cherokee County man on charges of stealing $1 million from a hospital.

Former North Georgia Medical Center CEO Jeffrey Mark Dunn, 48, of Canton, is charged with 21 counts of theft by deception over two years, according to the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.

Dunn was being held on $50,000 bond in the county jail, the sheriff’s office said. He was arrested Friday in Cherokee County.

“Even though detectives are concentrating their efforts on the more blatant egregious allegations, we anticipate this investigation will be ongoing for some time,” Sheriff Stacy Nicholson said on the post.
