A Hall County cheerleading coach accused of molesting a teen told an Atlanta television station this week that he is innocent of the charges.
Terrance Bohanna, 36, of Gainesville, was arrested a week ago and charged with child molestation after he allegedly touched the teen's private areas, according to police. Bohanna, who worked with the Georgia Rebel Superstars gym on Danbury Lane in Gainesville, was released from the Hall County jail after posting $10,000 bond.
"I've worked with children for over 20 years and never had an allegation like this," Bohanna told CBS46.
Bohanna told the station that the allegation stemmed from a February cheerleading competition in Atlanta, when the team he coached returned to a hotel afterwards.
“Nothing absolutely happened at the hotel,” Bohanna said. “I was not in the room with that child at all.”
The station reported that the allegations involve a 15-year-old brother of one of the girls on the cheer team.
Bohanna’s attorney, Neal Ainsworth, told CBS46: “I was very shocked that this allegation allegedly occurred in February. Up until two days ago, they continued to bring their daughter to the class though their son … made the allegation.”
Attempts to reach the victim’s family were not successful.
