A body was recovered Friday afternoon from the Ocmulgee River in Macon.

The body was recovered at Amerson River Park after a person reportedly went underwater and never resurfaced. Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones told WMAZ the body was recovered after 12:30 p.m.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the drowning victim was a 26-year-old man.

No other details have been released.
