Garth Brooks, like many music stars, had to postpone his arena tour this spring due to COVID-19. On Thursday, he announced that despite it being in a different format, the show must go on.

The multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning country star will launch a tour that will begin later this month at 300 drive-in theaters across North America. The concert will take place June 27, making it the largest one-night only show to play at outdoor theaters in the U.S. and Canada.

“I am so excited to get to play again. I have missed it so much and want to get back to it,” Brooks said in a news release. “This drive-in concert allows us all to get back to playing live music without the uncertainty of what would be the result to us as a community. This is old school, new school, and perfect for the time we are in.”

The shows will follow social distancing guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. All vehicles must be parked at least 6 feet from each other. There will also be contactless payment and ticketing systems in place as well as limited capacity in restrooms. Staff will also be required to use personal protective equipment, and there will be guidelines around concessions.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. EDT Friday, June 19 on Ticketmaster. The website will also feature a full list of drive-in theaters that are participating in the event.
