A Fort Campbell soldier died during a training exercise Tuesday in Kentucky, according to multiple reports.

The soldier, who has not been identified, went underwater during a diver exercise at Joe Swing Park Reservoir and did not resurface, according to a news release from Fort Campbell.

Personnel from Fort Campbell Fire and Emergency Services, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services helped look for the soldier, whose body was not recovered until Wednesday morning, according to the release.

The soldier’s death is being investigated, ClarksvilleNOW.com reported.

Since 2015, five soldiers have died during training at Fort Campbell, according to WTVF.
