Savannah firefighters are battling a large fire that broke out Tuesday morning near a popular antique marketplace.

According to Chatham Emergency Services, the fire is in the 8500 block of Ferguson Avenue near Sandfly Marketplace.

The fire broke out about 6 a.m., and a police officer on scene told WJCL several businesses are on fire, including the old J.C. Lewis furniture store, What’s For Dinner and Non-stop Fitness.

Traffic is blocked along Ferguson Avenue between Skidaway Road and Beechwood Avenue.

Officials are warning drivers to avoid the area. Ferguson Avenue is currently closed.
