The expected guilty plea Monday from a Sandy Springs doctor accused of sexually assaulting a young girl during a sleepover at his home has been postponed until Oct. 27, according to Fulton County prosecutors.

Kelly Burton Thrasher, 41, of Sandy Springs, is charged with child molestation, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sexual battery for the November 2012 incident.

The hearing was rescheduled for Oct. 27.

Thrasher was arrested Jan. 24, 2013, after his release from the Ridgeview Medical Center, where he entered himself after detectives initiated a criminal investigation into the molestation complaint, according to police. He was released from jail after posting $50,000 bond.

In January 2014, Thrasher was arrested again and accused of practicing medicine without a license, according to police. He was again released on bond.

Then in May, Thrasher became the subject of nationwide manhunt when he failed to show up for a meeting with detectives, who charged him with identity fraud and forgery in a separate case. He was later located at a Miami hotel with $30,000 and arrested. He has been held since May 28 without bond in the Fulton County jail.

When detectives searched his laptop, pornographic images of children were found, police said in June. Thrasher was charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for those allegations.
