DeKalb County police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night at an apartment complex that left a man dead.
Police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore said that when a woman returned to the apartment on Valley Brook Place where she lives with her boyfriend, she opened the door to discover her boyfriend lying on the kitchen floor.
“She then ran out of the apartment and alerted a friend waiting outside who called 911,” Fore told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email. “Police arrived and found the 40-year-old male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.”
Fore said that there was no forced entry into the apartment, and no witnesses have come forward.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the homicide may be drug-related,” he said.
The victim’s name has not been released.
