As Memorial Day weekend approaches, Tucker has a few words for residents: “Come on in, the water’s fine!”

The DeKalb County city recently announced it will open both of its city pools on Saturday, May 29. Social distancing and other coronavirus-related safety measures that were adopted last year, including a cap on the number of swimmers allowed at the pool, will remain in place this summer.

““The pools have never looked better,” Jason Collins, Tucker Operations Manager, said in a news release. “With proper social distancing and new amenities, we think patrons are in for a real treat.”

Residents might also see some new amenities the next time they take a dip at one of the pools. The Kelley Cofer Park pool, located at 4259 North Park Drive, is expected to unveil a new aqua swing, while the Rosenfeld Park pool, located at 2088 Glacier Drive, should have a new waterslide installed.

The city offers multiple membership packages to use the pool facilities. A summer pass costs $175 for families and $75 for individuals, while seniors and military veterans can use the pools for $50. More information is available tuckerga.gov/parks.
