A 2-year-old was killed, his parents were injured and another man is in custody with charges pending after a crash in North Georgia over the weekend, authorities said.

Between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Sunday, the driver of a Ford Super Duty truck rear-ended a Ford Escape that was sitting at an intersection, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The wreck killed Cohen Zayne Bryson, 2, of Rome, and sent front-seat passenger Santana Kelley, 23, of Shannon, to a hospital with serious injuries, the family said in a GoFundMe page. Santana Kelley, Cohen's mother, is 25 weeks pregnant, the page said. The Escape's driver, Joshua Bryson, is at the same hospital with several broken bones, according to the page.

The Escape was sitting at a traffic light at the intersection of Ga. 2 and Blue Ridge Drive. The pickup truck’s driver, Hunter Elliot, 23, of Blue Ridge, is suspected of drunken driving and being distracted, causing the wreck, according to troopers.

The specific charges Elliott will face have not been released.

As of Monday night, the GoFundMe page had raised nearly $3,000.
