Woman whose car was hit at stoplight, abducted and sexually assaulted
Gwinnett County police are looking for a man in connection with the reported sexual assault of a woman Thursday night.
The 24-year-old woman said she was driving home from work on Lawrenceville Highway towards Lawrenceville around 8:30 p.m. when her car was struck from behind by a dark-colored vehicle while at a stop light, Gwinnett police spokesperson Cpl. Michele Pihera said.
The woman told police that when she got out of her car, a man wearing a white sleeveless shirt pulled a handgun and told her to get back in her car. He then forced her to drive down Lawrenceville Highway.
They turned onto an unidentified street, stopped, and he sexually assaulted her, Pihera said. He then got out of the car and walked away. The woman drove herself to Gwinnett Medical Center where she reported the incident.
