Police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman behind a southeast Atlanta church.
The woman told police she was walking north on East Lake Boulevard when a driver asked her for her phone number. She ignored the request and walked south toward Glenwood Avenue, Crime Stoppers Atlanta director Miguel Sepulveda said.
In response, the driver allegedly turned his car around and followed the woman.
“The suspect exited the vehicle holding a black handgun and pointed it at the victim, ordering her to get into the vehicle,” Sepulveda said.
She got into the passenger seat of the car, and the man drove a short distance before ordering her to get out of the car, police said.
The man forced the woman to “walk behind the church” on Memorial Drive, “sexually assaulted the victim” and drove off, Sepulveda said.
Police released a Georgia Bureau of Investigation sketch of the accused man.
He is described as having a fade and tattoos on his collar bone and both arms. He wore a red tank top with white trim and writing, green shorts that were frayed as if cut at the ends and white Adidas.
He was driving a four-door, cherry red car with dealer tags, a gray cloth interior and a sticker in the center of the windshield.
