Profanities. Punches. Hair pulling. Want fries with that?

Elaine Modena of Macon ordered “Baconator” fries during a recent trip to a Wendy’s drive-thru. What she got was an altercation with some other customers, which prompted Modena to file an assault report.

Modena, who happens to be the daughter-in-law of late Bibb County Sheriff Jerry Modena, said she was punched and had her hair pulled during that Feb. 13 trip to the Wendy’s on Zebulon Road, according to The Telegraph.

Modena, her husband, mother-in-law and grandson went to the drive-thru after seeing a movie. The order was filled, with the exception of the cheese and bacon-covered fries. After a 10-minute wait on the fries, Modena went inside the restaurant to check on the remainder of her order, according to the incident report with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Modena, in an email to The Telegraph, said a restaurant worker made the fries for her, but handed them to the window attendant. That attendant delivered the fries to a customer outside, not Modena.

When she told the restaurant worker she was still lacking her fries, Wendy’s employees made her another batch.

As Modena left with fries in hand, a woman inside the restaurant yelled at her, “Are you just going to snatch that out of my niece’s hand?”

That woman and some children followed Modena to her car and allegedly assaulted her.

“I was … in shock,” Modena told The Telegraph. “I am almost 50 years old and have never had anyone do this.”

The woman and the children left in a vehicle, screaming obscenities and vowing to “make them pay,” according to the incident report.
