A vehicle struck three people waiting at a MARTA bus stop at the intersection of North Avenue and Boulevard in northeast Atlanta, the spokesman for the city’s fire department said.
The vehicle was involved in a two-vehicle crash about 11:17 a.m. Tuesday, Atlanta Fire Rescue spokesman Cortez Stafford said.
Though paremedics took people to get checked out at local hospitals, injuries weren’t severe, according to Channel 2 Action News.
One of the victims was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, he said. Two others were taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
A fourth person impacted by the accident refused treatment, Stafford said.
Witness Aaron Alexander told Channel 2 he heard screams from his nearby residence and ran out to help, after seeing the crushed MARTA bus stop bench.
“No one was unconscious” and “they looked in shock,” Alexander said to Channel 2.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
No other details were released.
