Extra police officers were at a Cobb County middle school Wednesday after some kind of threat was made against the school.

“Late Tuesday night there was a report of students in a chat room,” Cobb County School District spokeswoman Lauretta Hannon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “At some point a threat was made against Lovinggood Middle School.”

Although district officials do not think the threat is credible, school and county police officers “are actively investigating” the incident, Hannon said.

Lovinggood Middle School is at 3825 Luther Ward Road, near Hillgrove High School.
