One of the three teenagers indicted in the murder of a woman at a DeKalb County gas station in October entered a plea of not guilty Tuesday.

Cameron Williams, 16, who authorities believe shot and killed Shaneku McCurty, 25, had been charged with one count of malice murder and two counts of felony murder and aggravated assault.

The two other teenagers who were indicted, brothers Demonte and Jermaine Grant, 15, and 16, respectively, were granted their request to reschedule their arraignments until Dec. 14. They face the same charges as Williams in connection with the Oct. 23 robbery that left McCurty dead outside the Chevron Food Mart at Redan Road and South Indian Creek Drive.

The three teens are being charged as adults. If convicted, they will face the life sentences their alleged offenses carry.

Police have said that McCurty was on her way home from work when she stopped at the gas station at about 1 a.m. when the three teenagers tried to rob her.

When she resisted, she was shot three times.

The Grant brothers turned themselves in later that night. Williams turned himself in early the next day.

The Grant brothers are being charged under Georgia’s party to the crime statute: even though authorities believe Williams pulled the trigger, they’re held just as responsible for the outcome.
