Lindley Middle School was evacuated before school Tuesday after receiving a bomb threat but came back after police found nothing.

The Cobb County School District sent a note from Lindley's principal Moore Williams to parents later in the morning.

The school, 50 Veterans Memorial Highway SE in Mableton, received a call from "an outside source mentioning a bomb threat to our building," Williams wrote.

"Out of an overabundance of caution, we sent school buses to an off-campus, secure staging location with school personnel in supervision until we received the all-clear from authorities," the principal wrote.

Cobb County police and school police checked the building but found nothing.

Students went to their homerooms and continued on through the day.

The caller has not been identified.
