Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead Thursday in southeast Atlanta.

The shooting happened about 9:20 p.m. at the Golf Vista Apartments in the 400 block of Cleveland Avenue, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Channel 2's Darryn Moore reports.

Officers said when they arrived, they found Quintavious Finley, 21, of East Point shot at least once. The person accused of shooting him stayed on the scene, police said.

“He is being cooperative,” Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2. “It appears that there may have been some type of verbal altercation before the shooting escalated.”

Crime scene detectives looked for bullet casings and potential witnesses, according to Channel 2.

Investigators found the gun authorities believe was used in the shooting, the television station reported.
