A dispute over rent led a man to set fire to his Roswell apartment with family members inside, police said.

The incident occurred May 15 at the Lake House at Martin’s Landing, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Gregory Cousar-Roper was arrested and charged with arson, reckless conduct, criminal trespass and criminal damage to property. According to investigators, the apartment’s management was working to evict Cousar-Roper for not paying rent when he allegedly set the blaze with his cousin and his cousin’s child inside.

The fire was extinguished quickly and no one was injured, Channel 2 reported.

Cousar-Roper is still behind bars at the Fulton County jail on a $22,000 bond, records show. He’s scheduled to appear in court June 20.
