The U.S. Marshals Service has offered a $2,500 reward for the safe return of a girl who was abducted this week from the Rogersville, Tenn., area.

Also, an Amber Alert has been issued for Carlie Trent, 9. She was believed to have been abducted Wednesday by her uncle (by marriage), Gary Simpson, 57, according to a media release by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Warrants for kidnapping have been issued for Simpson, who does not have custodial rights to Trent. Their whereabouts are unknown.

Simpson last was seen driving a white 2002 Dodge Conversion van with a Tennessee license plate of 173GPS. Also, the van has a dark stripe down the middle with light gold running boards, and paint is chipping off of the hood, the release said.

Trent is 4-foot-8 and weighs 75 pounds. She has blue eyes and blonde hair, and was last seen wearing a black and gray tank top, and blue jeans.

Simpson is 5-foot-10 and weighs 157 pounds. He is balding and has brown eyes and brown hair, and was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark colored shirt, and jeans.
