A “medically fragile” woman on her last oxygen tank was found at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta on Monday after police said she was kidnapped hours earlier from a Newton County grocery store parking lot, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Newton authorities issued a Mattie’s Call for 61-year-old Brenda Thompson, who has dementia and had just undergone a round of dialysis.

No immediate information was provided on how the woman ended up in downtown Atlanta at Grady.

Thompson’s husband left her in a gray 2010 Lincoln MKZ with Georgia tag TKM 559 while he went inside the pharmacy at the Kroger on Highway 20 South in Covington, Destiny Jefferson with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 2 Action News.

When he emerged from the store, the vehicle and Thompson were gone. Thompson is not able to drive, Jefferson told Channel 2.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Newton County Sheriff’s Office at 678-625-1463.
