A former property manager is accused of stealing more than $8,000 from a large Cobb County neighborhood’s homeowners association, according to police.
Wendy Garmon Robinson was hired in October to work for the Legacy Park neighborhood, but fired in April after $8,458.88 was reported missing, her arrest warrant says. Robinson, 48, who lives in Atlanta, allegedly made 16 unauthorized transactions on the neighborhood’s credit card and failed to deposit money paid for dues and clubhouse rentals, Kennesaw police said.
“The last person to have the funds for deposit was Robinson,” the warrant says.
A total of $8,458.88 was reported missing from the Legacy Park HOA. Investigators determined Robinson used some of the money to pay her rent and a water bill, Officer Scott Luther told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Robinson was fired as the neighborhood’s property manager on April 22. Since then, she has sent three checks to the HOA to re-pay the stolen funds, according to police.
On Friday, a warrant was issued for her arrest, and Saturday morning, Robinson surrendered. She was arrested and charged with one count of theft by taking, a felony, and released Saturday evening from the Cobb jail after posting $15,000 bond, booking records show.
