Atlanta police Friday released home security video showing a gunman who allegedly shot and killed a man in the Pittsburgh community of southwest Atlanta a week ago.
Rodney Stafford, 25, died in the Oct. 23 shooting, which happened about 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Mary and Welch streets and prompted the temporary lockdown of nearby Gideons Elementary School.
The video shows a man walking down the middle of the street before crouching and pointing a handgun in the direction of the home where the video camera was mounted.
Homicide investigators as well as the victim’s mother planned to speak with media about the incident Friday afternoon.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones asked that anyone with information call the Crime Stoppers Atlanta anonymous tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), adding that callers could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
