Atlanta police are seeking the public’s help identifying a man they say robbed a pedestrian of $800 in southeast Atlanta on Monday afternoon.

A man told police he was walking in the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue just before 6 p.m. when another man walked up to him and demanded money, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty said.

“The suspect did not present a weapon but threatened to shoot the victim if he did not comply with his demands,” he said.

Police said the man stole about $800 before fleeing south on Bradley Street.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the surveillance footage is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8744. Tipsters can remain anonymous and receive an award of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
