The mother of a 4-year-old boy who police say was found tied to a crab trap with tape on his mouth has been arrested, according to a media report.
Police found Jill Love, 32, hiding in a men’s restroom in a Kroger after officers received reports of her vehicle being parked outside the business, the Savannah Morning News reported.
Police had obtained a warrant for Love after the boy’s father contacted authorities about the incident, the paper reported. The father had gone to visit his son last week at the home of the boy’s aunt.
Love initially refused to let the father visit, but he was able to get past the women in the home to find the child, according to the report.
It’s the second arrest in connection with the case. The boy’s aunt, Amy Sanders, was charged with first-degree felony cruelty to children, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported.
