Police investigating shooting of would-be armed robber
An unidentified Atlanta woman told police she shot and killed a man who tried to rob her early Saturday morning outside her northwest Atlanta home.
The woman called 911 and told the operator she shot the would-be thief multiple times near a dead end on Holly Road. Atlanta police said she told them she was checking her mail when the man approached her, holding a gun to her head. Reaching into her purse as if to collect money, she instead grabbed her gun.
A weapon was found on the suspect, whose name has not been released, according to Atlanta police.
