Police are looking for a man accused of raping a woman on MARTA property near the Indian Creek station in Stone Mountain.
The incident occurred beyond the parking lot in a wooded area surrounding the station, MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The woman got off the train just before 10 p.m. June 14 and walked across the parking lot, according to a police report obtained by The AJC.
She told police when she reached Elder Road, a man grabbed her, pulled her into the wooded area and raped her.
The woman called her roommate to ask for help just before 10:30 p.m. and went to DeKalb Medical Center, according to the report.
“MARTA takes this incident very seriously and our police department is actively investigating this case,” Harris said.
Beyond that statement, Harris would not comment on the investigation, which remains open.
