Two carjacking have taken place at the same shopping center in the past month, authorities said.

Police are searching for a crew of robbers accused of stealing a shopper’s pickup truck near Smyrna on Thursday.

The man walked out of the Advance Auto Parts on South Cobb Drive near the East-West Connector to find a chatty man who stopped him to have a conversation. Cobb County police told Channel 2 Action News that was a distraction in order for two SUVs to drive up and box his vehicle in.

That’s when the man he was chatting with pulled out a gun, demanding his wallet and keys, Channel 2 reported.

The victim told police he saw at least four people in the robbery crew, and they drove off in the two SUVs and his pickup truck.

Surveillance cameras at the store did not capture footage of the carjacking, the news station reported. This is the second carjacking in that area in the past month.

An investigation is ongoing.
