A 90-year-old Roswell woman was robbed of cash and jewelry by a gunman who entered her home, police said Wednesday.

The robbery happened around 8 p.m. Sunday at a house on Wicklawn Way off Eves Road, Officer Zac Frommer with Roswell police said.

“She heard a door bell ring three times at her front door,” Frommer told Channel 2 Action News. “Shortly after that, she saw a male standing in her house. He had a gun, told her to get on the bed, had her stay on the bed while he rummaged through some items.”

Detectives believe the gunman entered the house through an unlocked back door.

“We have some leads we’re working on and we’re looking for any witnesses who may have seen these subjects,” Frommer said. “She believes she saw suspicious people earlier in the day, so we’re trying to see if that was somehow related.”

The woman was not seriously injured, but said she was shaken by the incident. One neighbor, C.J. Antonio, said his family had their home security system checked after the incident.

“It makes us nervous,” Antonio said. “(If it) happened right across the street from us, it could happen to us.”
