A Coweta County pharmacist accused of stealing approximately 600 generic Tylenol pills with codeine was arrested Monday.

Robert Aiken Stitt, 62, said he stole the pills, worth $289.98, due to chronic pain in his back and leg while working at the Rite Aid on Temple Avenue, according to police. He was arrested and charged with distribution without order, according to the Coweta sheriff’s office.

At the jail, Stitt denied having other drugs in his possession. But when he was being patted down, deputies found seven appetite suppressant pills, identified as Adipex, in his front pocket, the sheriff’s office said. In Stitt’s lunch box were two Ziploc snack bags containing approximately 30 Valacyclovir pills and 75 Tylenol 3 Codeine pills, authorities said.

Stitt was then charged with crossing the guard line with drugs, police said. He was released later Monday after posting $7,500 bond.
