Peachtree Corners’ City Manager Brian Johnson has been selected to serve on a 12-person joint study committee to analyze the effect that stormwater fees have on property owners in Georgia.
Johnson was named by House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, as a member of the newly formed Joint Study Committee on Stormwater Management Fees. The committee, created by the Georgia General Assembly, is charged with examining the equity and financial impact of stormwater fees imposed on private property owners.
On the committee: four members of the Georgia General Assembly, (two from the Senate and two from the House of Representatives); four members with experience in local government; four members from the private sector who own property that is subject to stormwater management fees.
“It is indeed an honor to have been selected to serve on the state’s Joint Study Committee on Stormwater Management Fees,” said Johnson. “I look forward to undertaking the study to ensure fairness dictates the costs borne by taxpayers of our state and the impact of those fees.”
The committee will be charged with providing a report outlining specific findings or recommendations for proposed legislation.
