An alleged drug deal left one 19-year-old dead and a second charged with murder, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just after 8 p.m. Monday, Khayree Acklin of Conyers was dropped off at Rockdale Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. Acklin died from his injuries that night.

Investigators later determined Acklin had been involved in a drug transaction when a fight broke out and shots were fired near the intersection of Sugar Creek Lane and Sweet Briar Lane in the Honey Creek subdivision, the sheriff’s office said. When Acklin was shot, others involved in the drug sale put him in a vehicle and drove him to the hospital, police said.

On Tuesday, deputies arrested the suspect at his Conyers home, the sheriff’s office said. Kalen McFadden was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was being held without bond Wednesday at the Rockdale jail.
