Investigators on Sunday identified the woman shot in the face and killed while driving her SUV down an Atlanta street.
Tiara T. Jones, 25, was travelling at 12:45 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Milton Avenue and Hank Aaron Drive when shots were fired from a second vehicle, police said. Officers found Jones overturned SUV in the road and multiple shell casings in the area.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene and two passengers in her car were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. One of the passengers had a broken ankle, Atlanta police said.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified Jones but had no other details about where she was from or the nature of her death. Her vehicle apparently struck a tree before coming to rest in the road.
As of Sunday morning, no suspects had been publicly identified.
