Police fatally shot a man early Saturday in Stockbridge after domestic incidents between a father and son, authorities said.

Henry County police SWAT officers fired a Taser and gunshots, fatally wounding the person, the GBI said Saturday in a media release.

Police twice responded Friday night to domestic violence at a residence in the 400 block of Swan Lake Road, according to the GBI.

The first incident occurred about 7 p.m., and was described as being a verbal disturbance between a father and son, according to the GBI. The second incident was about 11 p.m., after the son reportedly shot at the father, who fled the home uninjured.

No one answered the door when police arrived the second time, and so the situation was ruled a barricaded gunman, according to the GBI. SWAT officers were dispatched about 11:45 p.m. They entered the home about 2:40 a.m., and determined that the individual was still in the home. They continued to establish contact with the person.

No officers were injured, and no identities have been released. The GBI has taken over the investigation of the incident.
