New charges have been filed against both suspects in Tuesday's violent home invasion in Johns Creek, according to Fulton County jail records.

Kenneth Michael Hayes, 28, and Andraus Betts, 23, were arrested in southwest Atlanta on Tuesday, hours after police say they pistol-whipped a woman and a caregiver, authorities said.

About 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the pair allegedly broke into a home in the 5000 block of Chelsen Woods Drive and held the woman and the caregiver at gunpoint for about 45 minutes.

“(They were) asking for money, asking where the safe was and things like that,” Johns Creek police Capt. Chris Byers said at the time. “At some point during the altercation, the two females were hit by the assailants. They were struck in the head with their weapons.”

Originally, Hayes and Betts were charged with theft by receiving stolen property and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Now they each face three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of theft by taking, false imprisonment, home invasion and possession of a firearm during a felony, according to jail records.

During a first appearance hearing Thursday, Hayes was denied bond. Betts did not appear.
