A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon for the Lyft driver who was shot to death in his car.

Shariar Zolfaghari, 34, was working around 1 a.m. June 1 when he was found at the intersection of Rankin Street and Boulevard in northeast Atlanta. He had been shot twice, according to police.

Zolfaghari, a native of Iran, is the husband of Georgia Assistant Attorney General Camila Wright. The couple met three years ago and were married nine months later. Zolfaghari is also survived by the couple’s 1-year-old daughter, Zoya.

When Zoya was born, Zolfaghari had vowed that one of them would always be with her, and he kept his promise, Wright said. He quit his job in real estate development so his days would be free.

"While I worked every day, he decided to stay home with her," Wright said. "He wanted to have that time with her."

The reward for information leading to an arrest in Zolfaghari's death was increased to $35,000 on Tuesday. Friends of the family donated $25,000 toward the $10,000 reward originally offered by Crime Stoppers Atlanta and Gov. Nathan Deal.

A memorial service is scheduled for 12 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Anglican Church, 2270 Defoor Hills Rd NW, in Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to a fund for Zolfaghari's daughter at www.gofundme.com/provideforzoya.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Zolfaghari is also survived by his parents and three brothers.
